Laoise is an experienced GP with a special interest in Menopause care.

She graduated from UCD (hons) in 1997 and went on to complete the Eastern Regional Vocational Training Scheme in General Practice and was awarded MICGP in 2001. During this time, she also completed other exams and diplomas, including a Diploma in Obstetrics and Women’s Health, Diploma in Child Health and Diploma in Medicine for the Elderly.

Laoise has worked in General Practice for over 20 years and has developed an interest in menopause care while a GP partner in Wheaton Hall Medical Practice  in Drogheda. She believes in a holistic, patient-centred approach to supporting women during what can be a challenging time.

Laoise is also heavily involved in supporting her colleagues in Continuing Medical Education (CME). She has been a CME tutor in Dublin West for the last 14 years and the Assistant Academic Director of the ICGP National CME Network for 4 years.

She left Drogheda to work closer to home. She has completed the British Menopause Society (BMS) Management of Menopause Certificate, the BMS CBT in the Management of Menopause Certificate and the BMSA Advanced Certificate in the Principles and Practice of Menopause Care.

Laoise is now registered as a BMS Menopause Specialist.

Laoise will be joining the team at Oakwood in November and we very much look forward to welcoming her on board.
